VPN for Microsoft Edge, set up once on Windows

Microsoft Edge works with Ben's VPN through the app, not an add-on. The app runs on Windows, Mac and phones. After a one-time install on your PC, every Edge window opens sites through your chosen location, InPrivate included.

Windows setup in 3 steps

  1. Run the installer

On a Windows PC, the button above downloads the EXE file (it is also on the downloads page). Run the file to install the app: one build covers Windows 7 SP1 to Windows 11.

  2. Press Connect

The plans open before the first connection if the account has no subscription. On the first connection, the app installs its network adapter. Windows may ask for administrator rights, and the setup takes up to 30 seconds.

  3. Return to Edge

Edge itself needs no changes in its settings. All its windows use the country shown in the app until you press Disconnect.

Startup with Windows and the tray icon

The app can start automatically together with Windows. Enable Launch the app on system startup under Account → Settings → Autostart.

Closing the window does not quit the app. The app keeps running in the Windows tray. Right-click its tray icon to see Open and Quit.

The window shows whether the VPN is on. The card reads Connected to with the server address during a connection. It reads VPN not connected when the VPN is off.

YouTube in Edge needs no add-on or extra settings either. Videos open through the chosen country while the app is connected. Video tips are on the main YouTube page and the desktop YouTube guide.

Plans with no device limit

With any plan, Edge can use every country on the list from the first day.

Bonus months come with purchases on this site. Refunds follow our refund policy. Send the request within 14 days of payment.

Microsoft Edge questions

Support 24/7: the chat on this site, Telegram @bensvpn and [email protected].

Does InPrivate hide my IP address?

No, InPrivate only stops Edge from saving history, cookies and form data after you close the window. Your real IP address stays visible to sites until Ben's VPN connects.

Do Windows updates and Microsoft Store downloads go through the VPN as well?

Yes, in the Off mode of Split tunneling, which opens under Tunnel. In this mode the whole computer uses the VPN, not only Edge. Addresses that should stay direct go into Manual.

What should I do if a page in Edge does not open after I connect?

Press Fix the problem on the Bad connection banner if the app shows one. The app then offers to change the location or find a working server. You can also choose another location under Location. For Support 24/7, press Support in the app to open the chat.

Will my Microsoft account, passwords and Edge sync keep working?

The app changes nothing in Edge or in your Microsoft account. Favorites, saved passwords and sync settings stay as they are. Sites and services see the address of the location you chose.

Can I use this with Edge on a Mac or a phone?

Yes, after you install Ben's VPN on that device. Edge for macOS uses the VPN through the Mac app. On a phone, the Android or iPhone app covers Edge. Setup guides: VPN for Mac, VPN for Android, VPN for iPhone.
