ABC sport and the Australian Open: Australia only
-
ABC SPORT and ABC CRICKET
Most ABC radio stations play in any country in the ABC listen app. ABC SPORT and ABC CRICKET are the exception to this rule. According to the ABC help pages, broadcasting rights make them unavailable outside Australia. The Australia location shows the ABC an Australian address. The ABC may still refuse a connection that it identifies as a VPN.
-
The Australian Open on Nine until 2029
Nine holds the Australian broadcast rights to the tournament from 2025 to 2029. Nine shows the matches live and free, with streams on 9Now. In other countries, local rights holders show the matches. The tournament also streams its own BlueZone channel on YouTube. For this reason, 9Now expects viewers to have an Australian address. Like other streaming services, 9Now may refuse an address that belongs to a VPN.
Australia: a single location, far from Europe and the Americas
Ben's VPN has one row for Australia, without a choice of city. Sydney appears next to it in the list of countries on our site.
Every request goes to the server in Australia and back. The route is long from Europe, Africa and the Americas. Ping is higher on this route, and pages open more slowly. A closer location works better for everyday browsing. Select Australia for the match or the broadcast, then return to the closer location.
Connect to Australia in 4 steps
-
Install Ben's VPN
Choose your device on the page with every Ben's VPN app. Phones and computers do not ask you to register an account. The first launch runs the initial setup and then opens the main screen.
-
Find Australia
Press Location under the server card and open the location list. Enter “Australia” in the Find location field above the list.
-
Select Australia
Selecting the Australia row connects the VPN at once, because Automatically connect when changing location is ticked by default. This works on an account with a subscription. After the connection, the server card on the main screen shows Australia.
-
Choose a plan or sign in
An account without a subscription does not connect yet. The app saves Australia as the selected location for later. Connect opens the Buy Ben's VPN window with the plans. Press Sign in to account in that window to use a plan you paid for earlier.
An Australian IP address does not move your app store to Australia. ABC listen is offered only to Australian Google Play and Apple accounts. Accounts from other countries do not see it in the store, with or without a VPN.

Questions about the Australia location
Support 24/7: the chat on this site, Telegram @bensvpn and [email protected].
Why does the Fastest tile not select Australia?
The tile chooses from locations near your current position. From most other countries, Australia is too far for this tile. Select the Australia row in the location list instead.
The ABC stream still says it is not available. What can I try?
Check that the server card on the main screen shows Australia. A card that shows Australia means the ABC refused that address. Replace Servers gives every location new IP addresses at once. It is in Account → Settings, in the Server Replacement section. Other devices on the account may have to connect again. The ABC can refuse the new address too.
Is Australia part of the trial?
Yes, the trial includes every location, Australia among them. You can buy the trial only one time.
Is there a data cap if I stream a whole day of cricket?
Ben's VPN has no traffic limit on any location. The data limits of your mobile plan still apply.
Plans with no device limit
One subscription includes Australia and all other countries on all your devices.
Bonus months come with purchases on this site. Refunds follow our refund policy. Send the request within 14 days of payment.
