VPN for Roblox: setup, location and what the rules say
Roblox works through Ben's VPN on computers, phones and tablets, like any other app. A location close to you keeps the extra path to the game server short. If you need the VPN only for other apps, Android can exclude Roblox from it.
A nearby location for Roblox
With the VPN on, all traffic between your device and the Roblox server passes through the chosen location. A location in your country or next to it adds little time. A location on another continent adds that whole distance to every round trip.
Press Location and choose the Fastest tile. The app then chooses a nearby location. Choose a location by hand only when you need a specific country. Type a few letters in Find location to find it in the list.

Install Ben's VPN
Computers: the Mac app or the Windows app. Phones and tablets: the App Store for iPhone and iPad, Google Play for Android.

Open it and connect
No sign-up is needed. On the first launch, the app creates a guest account for this device. The first press of Connect opens the Buy Ben's VPN window. Pay for a plan in that window. If your subscription is paid, press Sign in to account under Already have a subscription? in that window instead.

Start Roblox
Open the game when the card shows Connected to and an address. If Roblox was running before, close it and start it again. Until a restart, it keeps its old connection.
Android: Roblox outside the VPN
On an Android phone or tablet, Roblox can connect directly while other apps stay on Ben's VPN. Use this where Roblox works without a VPN. Open Tunnel and choose Manual. In the Apps that bypass the VPN section, press Select apps and tick Roblox. Reconnect the VPN if the app asks for it.
iPhone, iPad and computers have no app list. There, Manual accepts IP addresses, subnets and domains, one per line. Such a list is hard to keep for a game. On these devices, choose a nearby location instead.
Roblox Community Standards ban hiding your location with a VPN to get into Roblox without permission. The rule also covers single features and accounts. If Roblox is blocked in your country, a VPN does not change this rule. Breaking it puts your Roblox account at risk.

Roblox disconnected me when I changed location. Why?
A new location reconnects the VPN at once. Roblox loses its server for a moment, so rejoin the game. To change the location without an instant reconnect, untick Automatically connect when changing location in the Change Location window. You then get the new location when you connect next time.
Roblox lags even through a nearby location. What should I check?
Disconnect for a few minutes and play the same experience. If the lag stays the same, the cause is the device, the Wi-Fi or the experience. A VPN does not change these. If the lag appears only with the VPN, try another nearby location. If that does not help, tap Support and describe the lag in the chat. Support 24/7 answers there.
Can Roblox on Xbox or PlayStation go through the VPN?
Yes, through your router. Xbox and PlayStation cannot run the app. A router on the VPN covers the console together with the rest of your home network. On Keenetic or Netcraze routers with the app, the VPN can cover only the console. The VPN for games page lists the routers that support this.
Is Roblox safer on public Wi-Fi with the VPN on?
On café, hotel or airport Wi-Fi, the network owner sees only a connection to our server. The owner does not see that the device is playing Roblox. A VPN does not protect your password from fake sign-in pages. Sign in only in the Roblox app or on its official website.
