Ben's VPN has no extension for Chrome, Opera, Edge or Firefox. It is an app that you install once on a computer or phone. After it connects, every browser on the device uses the VPN, and so do your other apps.
One install per device covers every browser
A VPN extension works inside one browser only. It changes the IP address of that browser’s tabs and nothing else. Every other browser and profile needs its own copy of the extension. The mail app, a game launcher and other programs keep your usual connection.
Ben's VPN connects the whole device at the network level. Every browser uses the location shown on the server card once you press Connect. Regular and private windows are covered, and so is any browser you install later. You do not change any settings inside the browsers.

Sites and apps that bypass the VPN
The app sends all traffic of the device through the VPN, apart from the exceptions you set. Press Tunnel under the server card to open Split tunneling:
- Off: all device traffic goes through the VPN, in every browser.
- Manual: list the domains, IP addresses or subnets to exclude, one per line. These addresses open directly in every browser, and the rest still goes through the VPN.
- On Android, the Manual mode can also exclude whole apps from the VPN. Choose them under Apps that bypass the VPN.
Some mode changes take effect only after a reconnect. The app shows a message when that is needed.

Install the app

This device gets a guest account at first launch, so registration is not needed. The button opens the Buy Ben's VPN window while the account has no subscription. Sites now see the country shown on the card. Press Location to choose another location from the list.

Is there a VPN button on the browser toolbar?
No, the toolbar has no such button, because there is no extension. You start and stop the VPN in the app with Connect and Disconnect. Each press applies to every browser on the device at once.
Does the app work on a work computer without administrator rights?
Probably not, because the first connection installs a network adapter. This step may require administrator rights, which a browser extension does not need. Ask the administrator of that computer, or use Ben's VPN on your own device.
How do I use the VPN in the browser on my phone or tablet?
You need the app on the phone or tablet itself. iPhone and iPad get it from the App Store (setup steps are on the iPhone and iPad page). On Android, choose Google Play or the APK file from our site (both are on the Android page). After that, Safari, Chrome and every other browser there use the VPN with the rest of the device.
Can Chrome use one country and Firefox another?
No, one device has one active location at a time. Every browser on it gets the same country. Individual sites can still bypass the VPN: add them to Manual under Tunnel.
